Guided imagery, relaxation techniques combined with music and ambient instruments. Best to remove rings, jewelry.  Drums/percussion will be provided. If you have a drum, feel free to bring it.
What is a frame drum? It is a drum that has a drumhead width greater than its depth. It is one of the most ancient musical instruments, and perhaps the first drum to be invented. If you'd like to be a part of an ongoing and welcoming frame drum group that is learning how to strike a frame drum with the proper techniques and timing, and learn about playing and singing together, using certain patterns, but also relaxing during each class and just playing freestyle, then this class is for you.
We will be using the techniques of world-renowned Marla Leigh. If you want to just come a few times to try it out, there will be a drum for you to use for that day. You will need to text me your name for that: 480-862-3306. I have a variety of sizes... but you can learn on a pizza box, or a cake pan! This way you can decide if you want to continue with the class and purchase your own drum. NOTE: We are ALL learning and laughing, making mistakes, sharing tips. NO judgment, only acceptance.
