Sunland Village East provides a lifestyle where residents can try new things, connect with others and just have fun.  We have over 75 clubs and groups; and if that isn't enough, you can start your own! People here say, "I can't believe I ever had time for work!"

Fitness Center - The North and South Fitness Centers are open Monday-Sunday, 4:30 AM -11 PM.

Gentle Stretch – Meets every Saturday starting September 18th from 7:30 - 8:30 AM in the Oakwood room. It is $4pp. Start your day with a gentle stretch and improve full body flexibility. Certified instructor can assist all capability levels; improve your full body flexibility for optimal mobility, strength, and balance. For more information contact Cindy Sylvester at 480-510-5731.

Low Impact Aerobics - Classes will resume the 3rd Monday in October. Class meets M,W,F, 7:30 AM in the Oakwood room. $4 per class. Bring water and stretch bands. For more information contact Paula Malone at 480-984-8092.

Sunsationals Tap Dance Club - Currently meets the first 3 Tuesdays of the month in the Auditorium 9 - 11 AM. Professional instruction and practice will begin in November on Tuesdays/Fridays 8 AM -12 NOON. For more information contact Karen Jacobson at 480-205-9930

Water Aerobics - Monday through Friday, we have four (4) classes. The south pool offers a 7:45 AM medium impact water aerobics and 9 AM low impact water aerobics. For more information on south pool class contact Gert Smith, 480-390-6674.
The north pool offers a 10 AM class of stretching and aerobic water exercises for arthritis. A second class of these exercises is offered at 9:00 AM from November 1 to May 1. For north pool information, contact Jeri Longcrier, 480-986-4195.

Billiards - Hours are Monday - Sunday, 7 AM - 9 PM.

Billiards, Men's - Meets 8 - 11 AM Tuesday and Thursday from mid October-March. For more information contact Wayne Berg at 480-354-7584.

Bocce – Courts are open 9 AM - 9 PM. Practice balls are in the closet just north of the courts and game rules are posted at the court. Please return the equipment to the closet and turn off the lights when leaving. For more information call club president, Lois Wierenga, 708-341-4616.

Bowling Mixed League – The Bowling Mixed League is from November to March (2021-2022). An organizational meeting will be held the last Monday in October. For more information contact Coreen Renner at 480-688-4025.

Cornhole (Beanbag Toss) – Play is suspended for the 2021 season.

Horseshoes - Hours are Monday - Sunday, 7 AM - 4 PM. Maintain social distancing, wear a face mask and wash hands often (or use hand sanitizer). For more information contact Tom Sheridan, 480-246-0861.

Pickleball - Summer hours are 6 AM - 9 PM. A FOB is required to enter the new courts and security unlocks the Sport courts at 6 AM. Masks are no longer required but we strongly encourage social distancing and that you wash hands often or use hand sanitizer. Lessons and clinics are over until November. Summer schedule is now in place so all residents are welcome to play as well as bringing guests, who must always be accompanied by a resident. Name tags are not required during the summer. Ping Pong – Available Friday mornings from 10 AM - 12 noon in the Oakwood room. Bring your own paddle or the Association has a limited number of paddles in the office. For reservations contact the HOA office at 480-380-0106

Shuffleboard – Courts are open Sunday through Saturday, 7 AM - 9 PM. Maintain social distancing, wear a face mask and wash hands often (or use hand sanitizer). Swimming Pool Complexes - Hours are 4:30 AM - 11 PM. Maintain social distancing, wash hands often (or use hand sanitizer).

Tennis Club - Tennis courts hours are 5:30 AM - 9 PM. Maintain social distancing, wear a face mask and wash hands often (or use hand sanitizer). Trailblazers Hiking Group – Meets each Tuesday starting in November at 7:30 AM. Hikers meet in the parking lot north of the courtyard. Riders compensate drivers. All hikers carpooling with the hiking group are required to sign a waiver and carry at least 1.5 liters of water. Food and sturdy footwear are recommended. Trailblazers Walking Group – Trailblazers walking group will walk on each Thursday. Walks will be 3 to 4 miles on easy to moderate terrain. Walkers will meet in the parking lot east of the Auditorium and carpool. Riders compensate drivers. For information contact Glenn Rorvig 406-263-4621 or November start time will be 7:30 AM.

Volleyball, Court - Current open hours are 6 AM - 9 PM (summer schedule) & 7 AM - 9 PM (winter schedule). Maintain social distancing, wear a face mask and wash hands often (or use hand sanitizer). Volleyball, Water, North Pool - Winter hours are Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 2 PM - 4 PM. Maintain social distancing, wash hands often (or use hand sanitizer). Beginner to Intermediate Water Color class meets every Monday 9:00 AM - 11:30 AM in the Arts and Craft room.
Advanced Water Color class meets every Monday 1:00 PM - 3:30 PM in the Arts and Craft room.
Pan Pastel class meets at 9 AM every Thursday in the Arts and Craft room.
Drawing class meets at 9 AM every Friday September-December in the Arts and Craft room.
Colored Pencil class meets at 9 AM every Friday starting in January in the Arts and Craft room.

Ceramic Club – Starting on October 11, 2021 there will be a room moderator available every Monday from 9:00 - 11:00 AM in the ceramic room. Residents may come in to pay dues and locker fees, or paint. Dues are $5 a year. Club members will be able to use their fobs to work in the ceramic room any time from 7:00a.m. until 4:00p.m. If you are fully vaccinated you don't need to wear a mask, but we encourage you to wash to wash your hands frequently and maintain social distancing. Lapidary/Silversmith Club - Located in the North complex, our current hours are Monday 8:30 AM- 11:30 AM and Thursday 1-3 PM. Fall hours will be Monday - Friday 8:30 to 11:30 A.M. and 1:00 to 3:00 P.M.  Newcomers are always welcome.  No experience needed.  Learn to make your own jewelry.  Looking for a perfect gift, check out items for sale in our windows. Sunland Stitchers – Meets every Monday and Wednesday from 12:30 PM - 3:00 PM and Friday from 9:30 AM - 12 noon in the Rosewood room across from the Woodshop. Woodshop – The Woodshop hours - Summer Hours:  April -9:00 AM - 12:00 noon Monday – Friday; May – September – 9:00 am -12:00 pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday; October – 9:00 am – 12:00 noon Monday – Friday; Winter Hours – November – March – 9:00 AM – 12:00 noon & 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM. The Woodshop also meets the first Tuesday of the Month, in the Saguaro Room 10:30 AM to 12:00 noon  (Oct – Apr). There are no meetings held in the Summer. If for some reason monitor’s are not available during the summer months, the woodshop will be closed. Due to Covid, the protocol being utilized is the standard 6’ social distancing, hand sanitizing, mandatory sign-in and wearing of a mask for non-vaccinated residents.  Mask for vaccinated residents are currently not required, but encouraged.  If you are ill, running a temperature or feel bad, please stay at home to take care of yourself and protect others. Active Singles - Meets every Wednesday in the Mesa Verde room. Doors open at 6 PM and the meeting begins at 6:30 PM, with games to follow. The evening ends at approximately 8:30 PM. For more information contact Coreen Renner at 480-830-7572.

Alzheimer’s Caregivers Support - Meets the 3rd Thursday of the month in the Auditorium at 1 PM. The group is led by a representative from the Alzheimers Association. For more information contact Jan Vineyard at 480-373-5859. 

Bingo – Bingo is now playing every Sunday except Easter ad Christmas in the SVE Auitorium. Doors open at 4pm and Bingo starts at 6pm. No person under the age of 18 may purchase packets, play games, or claim prizes. Prize money will vary during the year based on attendance. Sunland Village East Bingo is played in accordance with the Arizona State Revenue rules and regulations, which are available on the premises along with the prominent display of the SVE Bingo license. Village Chapel - Chapel services are held in the Auditorium, services start at 9:00 AM. Masks are optional. There will be congregational singing. A Fellowship, with coffee and donuts, begins immediately after the worship service. The Village Chapel is a non-denominational ministry that exists to serve SVE residents and non-residents in the surrounding community. Since 1990, the chapel has been providing weekly worship services, seasonal Bible Studies and daily prayer and support for the ill and those grieving the loss of loved ones. Computer Club -Our regular meetings are Mondays at 9:00 AM in the Mesa Verde Room. Check out our new interactive website at  Through this site you can join the club ($20.00 annual fee), and receive meeting and informational notices throughout the year for Windows, Mac’s, Linux, and Photography. We will be having both in person meetings (September to May) and Zoom meetings (through the year) for General Membership and All SIGS (special interest groups). Access to the site requires membership and sign up and payment is done on line. Membership is for 1 year from date of signup and you can sign up at any time. Membership will give you access to the Website, a Monthly newsletter, and automatic membership in the Windows, Mac, Linux and Photography SIGS. Our In-person and zoom meetings include Question and Answer periods and presentations by National Computer groups, and local government officials, library, police, etc. In addition, the club will continue to offer Fix-it Tuesday’s to all residents of SVE and Internet access in the area around the Training Facility at the North complex. Computer Club MAC Group – We are a SIG (Special Interest Group) which is a part of the SVE Computer Club. We are known as MACies. We are sanctioned by Apple as a user group to operate as the MACies.  Katie Gertz has been leading this group since 2011. We meet twice a month on the 2nd and 4th Mondays from 1-3pm. Since the COVID pandemic essentially shut things down in 2020, we started using ZOOM to have our meetings. We will continue to meet using ZOOM for the remainder of 2021 and then begin our in-person meetings in the Mesa Verde Room starting January 2022. Computer Club Digital Photo Group - The 2021 SVE Virtual Photo Show is ready for viewing! Click here to view. We hope that you will enjoy this year’s entries. Thank you to everyone who submitted photos in this unusual year. There was no voting for this year’s photo show, but we hope that we will again be able to have a live show next year. If you would like to join the photo club please contact Mark Thurn to be added to the club’s email list. Data Hub -Open 7 days a week Sunday through Saturday, 7 AM- 9PM for residents only. No guests allowed, including non-resident family members. It is located in the North complex with the entrance off the parking lot next to Billiards. The Data Hub has Windows operating system computers. There is no printer in the "Hub". Residents may have boarding passes printed in the SVE Office during regular business hours. For more information contact the HOA office at 480-380-0106.

Friendship Circle – First meeting for the Fall is November 10 at 9:30 AM in the Mesa Verde room.  They meet every 2nd Wednesday of the month. There will be tea and treats, visiting, and a devotion book for the year will be selected. There is one lesson a month, and meetings may involve singing, prayers, and on some occasions there will be a lunch after. All faiths are welcome to the meetings. Geneology – Curious about your ancestry? Want to know what secrets or exciting adventures lie in your family history? Come join our group of others who are interested in finding out. We welcome anyone whether you are new to family history research or experienced. We learn from and help each other. Library - Open 7 days a week Sunday through Saturday, 7 AM- 9PM. Located in the North Complex, the Library has a wide variety of books, including large print books, magazines, and puzzles available for loan to residents.

Neighborhood Watch - GAIN. (Getting Arizona Involved in Neighborhoods) is a statewide annual event designed to encourage Neighborhood Watch programs and bring together communities throughout Mesa for a common goal-to let criminals know that citizens of Mesa are seriously united in the fight against criminal activity. This is a time to turn on the porch lights!! Go out into your neighborhoods during the day and get to know your neighbors!! This years GAIN event will be held November 6th in the SVE Auditorium from 3:00-7:00 pm. For more information contact Gary Berg at 480-628-5766.

SVE Potluck Club – Meets the 2nd Monday of the month in the Mesa Verde room from 6-7:30 PM. Please bring a dish to share with 10-12 people. For more information contact Mary Harris at 480-907-8773

Veterans Club – The Veterans Club has two meeting times monthly. Meets once a month in the evenings and in a new afternoon group. Afternoon: Meets the 2nd Friday of the month at 10:30-12 in the Saguaro room. The first meeting will be September 10. For more information contact Tony Rossillo at 480-986-0998. Evening: Meets the 3rd Wednesday of each month in the Auditorium October through March. Some month's dates will differ due to other groups meeting in the Auditorium so, check the Outlook article for the exact dates each month. Wednesday, October 20, 2021 will be the first meeting. Village Singers - Meets every Tuesday January-March 1-3 PM in the Mesa Verde room. The village singers come together to practice music, and are led by a gifted choral director. The only requirement is loving to sing. For more information contact Peggy Dronen at 612-616-0281.
