Pickleball

The SVE Pickleball Club's mission is to promote the growth and enjoyment of pickleball within the SVE community; to ensure the engagement of all players by offering organized recreational and competitive play; and to provide continued development of all players at all skill levels in a fun and sportsmanlike environment.

The current pickleball courts are located in the South Complex between the pool and the woodshop.  There is a bulletin board at the courts listing the court schedule and all the lessons and activities offered by the Pickleball Club which will officially begin the week of November 12.  The Club offers a variety of play from fun, social play to more competitive play.  Players are self-rated so you can play where you feel most comfortable.

New to pickleball?  Starting the week of November 12, the Club will offer free Beginners' Lessons with loaner paddles so you can try it out and see if this is the new sport for you.  Lessons are on Monday and Wednesday mornings from 11:00 to 12:00 and Thursday evenings at 6:00.  Your only requirement is to wear proper (court) shoes for your own safety and comfortable clothing.  Most people who take the beginners' lessons end up joining the club so that they can take advantage of all the activities offered by club.  You are not required to pre-register for the lessons.

For more experienced players, Pickleball Club offers its members Intermediate Lessons (skills, strategies and drills) on Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 am. The club also offers Round Robin skill-level events for all club members as well as club members' level play every morning.   Monday is Men's Night and we have Ladies' Play on Monday and Wednesday from 1:00 to 3:00.  The courts are open to all residents of SVE at various times during the day and evening.  We do have a "lights out" rule at 9:00 pm. Please consult the bulletin board for these times, or if there is a court available, please just come out and play.

For more information about joining the club ($25), lessons, and events, please check out our bulletin board at the courts or contact one of our board members.  We invite you to just show up at the courts for beginners' lessons and find out why this is the fastest growing sport in the U.S.  Pickleball is easy to learn and fun to play.  Come join us!
