MARK THRUN                                            (return to home page)

Hello fellow SVE residents!  My wife, Karen and I
purchased our SVE home in December of 2014.  We also call North Dakota home.
Karen and I have been
married for 45 years and have 5 children and 6 grandchildren.

I completed my undergraduate degree in Engineering Physics, and later completed a master’s degree in Business Administration. I spent 3 years in the Washington, DC ,area working for a naval weapons system contractor. We moved back to North Dakota, and I spent 34 years working for Basin Electric Power Cooperative as a manager in Information technology. My responsibilities included preparing the division’s financial budget, contract administration, computer facility and staff management.

My past community leadership activities include president and store manager of a community food cooperative (prepared financial statements,
managed cash flow, and managed 50 volunteers (10 years)), Regional Director of Common Health Warehouse Cooperative Association(2 years), Boy Scout troop leader and committee
chairperson (20 years), Church Council secretary and trustee (6 years).

I have been active in the SVE community by
volunteering for the pancake breakfasts, spaghetti suppers, sloppy joe lunch, selling pop/popcorn for the movie matinees, and welcoming our new homeowners. I participate in the computer,
photography, and genealogy clubs, bocce ball, lapidary, woodshop, and shuffleboard. I also have been serving on your BOD for almost 3 years (security for  2 years and treasurer for 1 year).

I would be honored to be reelected to serve on your BOD to continue to promote our wonderful SVE community.
