THE VILLAGE CHAPEL
The Village Chapel is a nondenominational
ministry operated for and by residents of Sunland Village East. It was
started in 1990 by a group of SVE residents under the leadership of Pastor
Wyn Olson, a resident since 1988. Our objective is to glorify the Lord,
teach Biblical truth and provide a place of worship with our neighbors.
We meet for worship and fellowship in the SVE Auditorium each Sunday at
8:00 A.M. and for Bible Study in the Saguaro Room on Wednesdays at
7:00 P.M., from November through
March. Our Choir meets for practice each Thursday at 2:00 P.M. in the Mesa Verde Room and performs each Sunday under the direction of
Karen Bader. Our Worship Leader, Carol Chestek shares news and
stimulating meditations each Sunday, Pastor Olson’s sermons are Bible
centered and focused on relevant issues. Our order of service is
informal, but reverent, and our music is traditional.
A freewill offering is
received each Sunday to cover our operating expenses and donations to
charities. We contribute $10,000 to the SVEHOA each year for the use of
their facilities. We donated $51,116 to charities during 2005.
We welcome people of all
faiths to join us for worship and fellowship. Meet the Lord in the
morning at the Village Chapel.
