SVE ACTIVE SINGLES
The Singles Club meets every Wednesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Mesa Verde room. At 6:30 cards/games begin. Some choose to play 500, and others Hand and Foot, Tripoli, Dominoes or whatever the individual table decides. Many games are available.
All SVE singles are welcome. You may visit twice before deciding whether to join the group. Our dues are $8 a year. Our membership is constantly changing, but we average around 130 members.
The “active” singles enjoy many events in addition to our Wednesday cards. Through a volunteer committee for each month, activities are planned for three or four outings. There are no requirements to attend these functions; they are just offered for your enjoyment, and you can choose to attend whatever you like. Transportation is furnished through volunteers. A monthly calendar of events can be found in the Hospitality Room in the courtyard.
We also have 3 or 4 catered dinners each year. We celebrate Christmas in July and December, and welcome back our winter friends with an Octoberfest dinner. The first meeting of every month, a committee prepares a treat to celebrate with all those who
have birthdays in that month.
Our Christmas project is through the Mesa Volunteer Connection. We provide bedding, clothing, towels, toiletries, dog/cat food, etc. for those who lose their belongings due to fire or other calamities. The goods are picked up by the firemen/women of Mesa, and they join us for whatever treats we are having that evening unless they have an emergency.
So, if you’re alone and you’re looking for a lot of friends and some interesting things to do, please join us. You can choose to do all or just a few of our events. It’s up to you.
