BOWLING
The Superstition Senior Mixed Bowling League bowls at Mesa East Lanes on Monday at 3:30 pm for 19 weeks October through March. Each year 16 teams are made up randomly from the membership list. The two longest-running leagues in the village are the SVE Mixed Bowling League and the SVE No-Tap Bowling League, both of which bowl at Brunswick Lanes, 1754 W. Southern, Mesa, for 20 weeks. Both leagues are non-sanctioned, handicap leagues. Our goal is to have a good time while getting some good exercise. The No-Tap league bowls on Monday at 1:30 pm. The Mixed League bowls on Wednesday at 1:30 pm. Both leagues presently consist of 3 people per team, resulting in a faster pace. The teams are assigned at the beginning of each season, using last year’s averages, so that teams begin with nearly the same team averages. At the end of each season there is a fantastic bowling banquet with great prizes. This is not the usual boring bowling banquet – you have to see it to believe it! Within
Sunland Village East there are three bowling leagues that bowl October
through March and two organized open bowling groups that meet socially in
the summertime. The purpose of these leagues is to promote the sport of
bowling in SVE and advance socialization within our village. Bowlers of
all skill levels are encouraged to have fun and enjoy the sport and
fellowship of bowling.
