Friday afternoon.
Sunland Village East Bocce Ball Club
Our Bocce ball is a version of Italian lawn bowling except that we play on carpeted courts. We have four courts located just east of the Mesa Verde Room. The game is not strenuous and can be played by people who are quite elderly and even somewhat handicapped. From the first week in January to the last week in March we have organized league play. Men play on Mondays, women and Tuesdays and mixed couples play on Thursdays and Fridays. Wednesdays are reserved for open play. Starting time is always 9:30AM. From April until the end of November we have open play on Monday thru Friday in the evening. Our courts are lighted for night play and the starting time is 7:00PM. In addition to playing the game, we are also involved with tournaments that include teams from other parks, fund-raising and other social activities. Gospel, Country, Waltz, two-step, Rock and Roll, boogie, Polka, Old-time from the Gay Nineties up! Come to Sunland Village East, Friday Jam Sessions! Bring your listening ears, dancing shoes, singing voices, or musical instruments. All are welcome! Amateurs and professional musicians join together to bring two hours of down home fun, beginning at 1:00 PM on Fridays in the Auditorium.
